RELEASE 4.th OF JULY SALON DES AMATEURS 8PM #

With the Project Gasthof Worringer Platz, the artists Andrea Knobloch and Oliver Gather have created a rather large, urban project space. It was not intended as an interior space for the gallery-like presentation of artistic positions, but rather challenged the "hospitable" interaction on an urban square near the railway station, between artists, travellers, residents and square users. The artist Frauke Berg was responsible for the sonic positions. Here, too, the special situation of dealing with the square was decisive, unavoidable and desired. Over the years, more than 50 positions have been invited in the echo chamber format. From 2017, Raumklänge Pulheim (Angelika Schallenberg, Sarah Bosqui, Harald Kimmig) became a partner of the project. In 2018, the Hallraum curated the exhibition Ringmodulator at Kunstraum Düsseldorf as an excursion from the square. With Kalle Laar, Lea Letzel, Tim Löhde, Calum Stirling, Magdalena von Rudy, Echo Ho, Jeremy Young & Jesse Perlstein (members of Sontag Shogun), Anja Lautermann, AA..LL, Swantje Lichtenstein, Sculptress of Sound: Julia Bünnagel, Patricia Köllges, Tamara Lorenz.

The Gasthof Worringer Platz project (Andrea Knobloch & Oliver Gather) did not use its own premises and was constantly dependent on making contact and collaborating with the other users of the square as guests. Only a glass house moved to the square was permanently available and functioned as a starting point.Social spaces were developed in a variety of collaborations and opened up for exhibitions, performances, readings, film screenings and temporary installations.

From 2020, Der Gasthof Worringer Platz warmly welcomed the PALACE project, which is continuing the artistic interventions on the square with a new team (artist Evelyn Möcking and Christoph Görke)!

The hallraum project transforms into a place without a place, with the intention of linking positions between visual art and sound and making them visible.
